11 FedEx charged with trafficking drugs for Web pharmacies

FedEx is facing drug-trafficking charges after a federal grand jury in San Francisco indicted the overnight shipping company, accusing it of conspiring to deliver prescription drugs for illegal Internet pharmacies.

Prosecutors say officials of the DEA and FDA and members of Congress warned FedEx at least six times since 2004 that illegal Internet pharmacies used the global shipper to deliver drugs. The indictment says FedEx knowingly shipped drugs for two illegal Internet pharmacies, the Chhabra-Smoley Organization and Superior Drugs. In 2003, the DEA shut down RxNetwork, one of the Chhabra-Smoley businesses, and arrested Vincent Chhabra on charges of violating the Controlled Substances Act.

Earlier this month, Apple was granted another Thunderbolt-related patent. Wikipedia notes that Thunderbolt (code named light Peak) was co-developed by Apple and Intel and made public in 2011. Apple applied for the Thunderbolt trademark shortly thereafter and came close to getting it registered. In fact in 2012 they were 30 days away from approval before running into problems and since then Apple has been trying repeatedly to get it registered with no success.

15 Quotes: Thoughts on Success

Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.
– Henry Ford

The Dictionary is the only place where success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success.
– Vince Lombardi

All of us are born for a reason, but all of us don’t discover why. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others.
– Danny Thomas
