01 Possible Meeting Topics

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about topics for future meetings for the Tulsa Users of Macintosh Society. I thought I would list some that I’m considering or have scheduled. Then see what you think and ask for additional topics. Much of these listed have been presented in the past year or scheduled for presentation during the next year.

02 Apps from Canada…

As we’ve written in the past, apps for iOS are coming from all over the world with a slowly shrinking share comeing from the U.S. There are many good apps coming from our neighbors in Canada – so this week we’ve singled out five great apps all from the Canadians.

03 The Little App Developer That Could

App Promo, a leading app marketing and strategy firm, has published the results from their Second Annual App Developer Survey that took place between this April/May 2013. The most noteworthy finding from the survey showed the tenacity of app developers today. 81% of app developers stated they would not abandon their app despite the same amount indicating that their app is currently not earning enough money to support a standalone business. – from Canada

05 Draw this App – An Innovative Way to Learn How to Draw

Draw this App turns your iPad into a virtual studio that will improve your drawing skills using metrics to track progress. Think you can’t draw? Peterson Hamilton thinks otherwise. The Toronto based designer and developer has created an iPad app that challenges the user using similar technique to learning how to write cursive so that anyone can hone their drawing skills. Drawing is a different way of thinking, that most people haven’t refined, and aren’t able to fully access. – from Canada

14 Quotes: Father’s Day, June 16th

He opened the jar of pickles when no one else could.
He was the only one in the house who wasn’t
afraid to go into the basement by himself.
He cut himself shaving,
but no one kissed it or got excited about it.
It was understood when it rained,
he got the car and brought it around to the door.
When anyone was sick, he went out to get the prescription filled.
He took lots of pictures …
but he was never in them.
–Erma Bombeck

The most important thing a father can do for his children
is to love their mother.
–Henry Ward Beecher
