Apologies for this edition delay. Being on the SpamCop mail makes it difficult. About once a year a hacker gets through or a denial of service attack hits. This time we were down for nearly 24 hours.

11 New apps from developers outside the U.S.

About 45% of this week’s news and press stream items came from outside the U.S. We follow new stories of new or updated products for Mac or iOS devices like iPad and iPhone for InfoManager stories and references.

12 Mac Day LA? Church of Mac? Church of Apple?

It’s amazing what you find when you are cleaning up old links in the Web site. Both Web sites have content leading back to the early 1990s. So far, 99% of the links have gone dead, or been hijacked by porn sites or affiliate parked sites. On this day in 2008, we were promoting Mac Day in LA. The Web site is gone without a trace. Also in this week of 2008 we wrote about The Church of Mac which promised to be the ultimate Mac source. It’s gone, too. But in the process of cleaning up dead links in the UGNN site, we also ran across The Church of the Mac at Second Life, AND, The Church of Apple, another WordPress blog claiming to be the “one” source for Apple news, started by Joe Giuliani. Except the last post seems to be January 26th… they do have a Facebook page… the last post was September 2013.

13 Quotes: Ethics and Morality

The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.
– Albert Einstein

The world is not dangerous because of those who do harm but because of those who look at it without doing anything.
– Albert Einstein

The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be. The more weapons you have, the less secure people will be.
– Tao Te Ching (trans)
