Workshop Descriptions

iOS 8

This is the latest update to Apple’s mobile operating system. It presents a fresh look with new flatter-looking icons, a new clear font along with other updated user interface elements. These provide unified clarity and continuity throughout the operating system.

This workshop will give you an overall picture of how iOS 8 works and teach you how to get the most out of your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Discover how to interact with your iOS 8 devices including external controls, touch screen, “predictive” keyboard and Apple’s digital assistant, Siri. Also covered will be essential tasks, making and receiving calls, e-mailing, and browsing the Web with Safari. Learn how to extend the functionality of your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad by installing one of the 1+ million apps available in the Apple App Store. This workshop wraps up with some essential settings that will help you customize your device, protect your privacy, and troubleshoot your device(s) whenever you encounter a problem.

OS X Yosemite

Learn the essentials of Yosemite, Mac OS X 10.10, Apple’s latest operating system for Macintosh computers. In this workshop we will go over the core interface elements such as the Finder, menus and the Dock. You will learn how to customize your computer so it works the way you want it to, discover ways to secure your personal data, and find out how to troubleshoot common problems.
