Who are you and what do you do?

At The Sweet Setup:

Every week we try to post a new interview with someone about what software they use on their Mac, iPhone, or iPad. We do these interviews because not only are they fun, but a glimpse into what tools someone uses and how they use those tools can spark our imagination and give us an idea or insight into how we can do things better.

Today’s victim, er, interviewee:

My name is Daniel Würthele and I currently attend school. Technology has always fascinated me and occupies an important place in my life. I’m espacially interested in all things that have to do with smartphones, apps, and their use cases in my daily life.

You can catch Daniel’s complete story here: Daniel Würthele’s iPhone setup.

“Back issues” can be found here: Sweet Setup Interviews.

Did You Know?

iOS 8.1.3 is out.

From Andrew Cunningham’s post on Ars Technica this morning:

Apple has just released iOS 8.1.3, the third patch for iOS 8.1 and the sixth update to iOS 8 since its release.

The most significant problem addressed by the new update is that it reduces the amount of free space that you need to install software updates, a problem which has proven especially irritating for owners of 8GB and 16GB iDevices.…

iOS 8.1.3 released, reduces the space you need to install updates has the gory details.

Today’s victim, er, interviewee:

My name is Andy Croll, and I’m a designer and Ruby developer based in Brighton, UK.

I’m currently working remotely as a Senior Engineer at a travel company called HouseTrip. I have a background in design and worked my way to the “back-end”, but these days I focus more on Ruby/Rails work. I’m the sort of person who has a lot of side projects — more ideas than time.

I run the Brighton Ruby Conference as well as a weekly bootstrapping newsletter (bootstrapping.io) and directory (buybootstrapped.org) as that’s where my eventual passions lie: small companies making cool things. I’ve done the VC startup thing as a founder, but it didn’t really agree with me. I occasionally blog at andycroll.com — a lot less than I should.

You can catch Andy’s complete story here: Andy Croll’s Mac and iOS setup.

iTunes Freebies Are Back!

Caitlin McGarry posted on Macworld this morning:

Apple killed its long-running “Single of the Week” promotion earlier this month, disappointing iTunes customers and musicians alike. After 11 years of complimentary songs, which offered exposure to countless new artists, the free ride was over — or so it seemed.

But Apple on Monday launched a new “Free on iTunes” section chock full of songs and full-length TV episodes.…

Yay!! Let’s hope they keep this up! PYBT: Apple brings back free music with new iTunes promotion for the whole story.
