Well, in this case, it’s a device…
Remember the 3D printing presentation? and all the cool things they were working on? Well, how ’bout this (spotted in InfoManager, http://www.UGNN.com/):

Yes, that’s a real, honest-to-goodness, 3D-printed concrete children’s playhouse!!! Read all about it, and what the designer has next in line, here: World’s First 3D Printed Castle is Complete – Andrey Rudenko Now to Print a Full-size House.

…speeding superhero?
The FCC is contemplating cellular networks that will be able to provide gigabit or better speeds. Yes, there’s a catch (or three): if these high speeds can be implemented, it will be years before we see them, and currently, the frequencies used to provide the speed are not capable of penetrating walls. Jon Brodkin gets into the details on Ars Technica; PYBT: Gigabit cellular networks could happen with 24GHz spectrum, FCC says.

Which, of course, refers to iOS 8. As Ars Technica’s Andrew Cunningham put it, “Overuse of hyperbole is a pet peeve of mine, but after using iOS 8 for a couple of months, I have to say that it’s warranted in this case.”
The article is entitled iOS 8, thoroughly reviewed, and let me tell you, he ain’t a-woofin’!! Here’s the table of contents:

At The Sweet Setup:
Every week we try to post a new interview with someone about what software they use on their Mac, iPhone, or iPad. We do these interviews because not only are they fun, but a glimpse into what tools someone uses and how they use those tools can spark our imagination and give us an idea or insight into how we can do things better.
Today’s victim, er, interviewee:
My name is Steven Aquino, and I’m a freelance tech writer who covers iOS Accessibility. I’ve contributed to numerous publications and websites, such as The Magazine, Macworld, TechCrunch, TidBITS, and more. (“More” includes this piece for The Sweet Setup.) I also publish my personal site, Steven’s Blog. When I’m not writing, I’m co-host of Accessible, a weekly podcast focusing on accessibility on iOS.
Prior to becoming a full-time, self-employed writer, I worked 11 years with my then local school district, where I worked as a classroom aide to preschoolers with special needs.
You can catch Steven’s complete story here: Steven Aquino’s sweet iPhone setup.
“Back issues” can be found here: Sweet Setup Interviews.
Tomorrow, at 2:00p, is the Navigating the Interface class at Di-No Computers.

According to a post from Andrew Cunningham on Ars Technica:

From the post:
If the rumor mill is to be believed, new iPads will be the headlining item for the event, and we’ll also supposedly be getting the public release of OS X Yosemite. Both the iPads and Yosemite will reportedly be accompanied by iOS 8.1, the first major update to iOS 8. Other rumors also suggest…
