Audio and Home Entertainment for Apple Devices

The Ultimate Sound System

With a nearly limitless supply of audio and video material available for downloading, and live streaming, your Apple iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer can serve as the gateway for all your home entertainment needs. At this month’s meeting, our own Board members David Whitby and Ron Streicher will be joined by special guest speaker Garry Margolis to tell us how to interpret the jargon of various media types and demonstrate how to input all of this programming from the Internet to your home theater system.

Topics to be discussed will be: the various audio and video formats; hardware and interconnection issues; media sources; and, of course, Apple TV.

Macworld HELP DESK 06.21.2013

First in line this week is Exploring Safari’s preferences. Professor Breen gets heavily into Safari under Mountain Lion; even if you’ve been using Safari for a while, you might notice something new.

Got kids? Set up a kid-friendly computer can get you and the little ones humming right along.

Master the command line: navigating files and folders is a great introdu… What’s that? Well, yeah, I’m talking about Macs… Oh!! Yes, it’s a bit arcane and behind the scenes, but the command line can be your friend; don’t let it freak you out.
