December 17th General Meeting

Last-Minute Holiday Gifts & Tips

Happy Mac Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

Trying to get everything done for the holidays? Take a short break and join us for the December meeting of the San Gabriel Valley Macintosh Users Group. We will provide some useful “last minute tips” regarding Apple products, software and accessories.

Win an iPod Shuffle!

iPod ShuffleAmong our drawing prizes for December, we will feature a new Apple iPod Shuffle – also known as the Ultimate Stocking Stuffer! Members receive a free red ticket, or buy extra tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5.We will also have some other super prizes in our drawing to help finish out your gift list.

AppleCare Discussion

Of course, all new Apple products include a manufacturer’s warranty, usually one year for most products. What if something happens in year two? AppleCare may be the answer – the warranty extension adds an additional two years of protection. We will discuss the pros and cons, the costs, what is covered, and what is not.

Board of Directors Election

An important feature of the December meeting will be the election of our new Board of Directors. Our slate of candidates this year includes some familiar names and some new ones, as well: Billy Chang, Bob Langdon, Mo! Langdon, Sean McKinley, Marilyn Miller, Dianne Moore, Thomas Ritter, Ron Streicher, David Whitby, and Andrew Zima.

Thank you to those who have contributed to the ongoing success of the SGVMUG as we look forward to the future.

President’s Message

Oh no! Not another election notice ??!!

Our National elections are indeed over, and we now will be free to watch the “Sit-n-Sleep” commercials comforted in the knowledge that they are the most obnoxious ads we will be seeing on TV… at least for a few months… However, in just a few weeks your San Gabriel Valley Macintosh Users Group will be conducting its own elections for the Board of Directors. Fear not, we won’t be inundating your e-mailbox with volumes of campaign messages. Just this one:

The terms of the seven of us who currently serve as your Board of Directors are about to expire. We need more of you to join us if we are to continue. We need your advice, your ideas, your enthusiasm, your energy, your inspirations, and your help so that we can continue creating and presenting the monthly meetings you have come to value and enjoy.
