Who are you and what do you do?

At The Sweet Setup:

Every week we try to post a new interview with someone about what software they use on their Mac, iPhone, or iPad. We do these interviews because not only are they fun, but a glimpse into what tools someone uses and how they use those tools can spark our imagination and give us an idea or insight into how we can do things better.

Today’s victim, er, interviewee:

My name is Jeff Sheldon, and I’m the Founder and Designer of Ugmonk. I started Ugmonk back in 2008 as a passion project and creative outlet to design minimal, typographic shirts that I wanted to wear. Since then, it’s grown into a much larger design brand that I now run full-time. I’ve expanded the product range to over 100 different products including leather goods, prints, hoodies, and other accessories, and we’ve shipped products to customers in over 60 countries. With the support of our customers, we’ve also been able to provide over 40,000 meals to kids around the world through our annual Ugmonk Gives Back charity drive. You can read more about my story here.

You can catch Jeff’s complete story here: Jeff Sheldon’s Mac and iPhone setup.

iPhone 6 Plus Camera Issues

iPhone 6 Plus camera

Andrew Cunningham posted on Ars Technica yesterday morning:

…Apple has announced an iSight Camera Replacement Program for iPhone 6 Plus models sold between the phone’s launch in September of 2014 and January of 2015. “A small percentage“ of phones sold included a faulty part that could make pictures taken with the rear camera look blurry.…

If you think your Plus might be suffering thusly, make sure to read the article, Apple launches replacement program for faulty iPhone 6 Plus cameras, and click on the link to Apple’s support page.

Even if you’re not having this issue, you might want to head on over and check whether your ’Phone’s serial number is amonsgt those eligible for the camera replacement; you never know if/when things might start to misbehave.

8 awesome iPhone apps

Zach Epstein, over on BGR, has a bad habit of posting lists of cool iPhone/iPad(/iPod Touch)(/Apple Watch) apps that are temporarily free.

Here’s the fine print:

These are paid iPhone and iPad apps that have been made available for free for a limited time by their developers. There is no way to tell how long they will be free. These sales could end an hour from now or a week from now – obviously, the only thing we can guarantee is that they were free at the time this post was written. If you click on a link and see a price listed next to an app instead of the word “get”, it is no longer free. The sale has ended. If you download the app, you will be charged.

Did You Know?

computer myths

As with almost everything these days, there’s a lot of advice about computers being bandied about by all sorts of folk. Is it good? Is it bad? Is it indifferent, for that matter?

Bryan Clark, at MakeUseOf, posted a very interesting article on computer myths this morning. It deals with hardware, software, religious (of sorts) beliefs, etc. Short, sweet, and to the point; check it out: 10 Common Computer Myths You Need To Stop Believing.
