Still Waffling About Which Office Suite to Use?

There may or may not be hope.

Microsoft announced yesterday that its Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are now available for the iPad; if you want to do more than look at documents, however, you have to subscribe to Office 365…

eWEEK’s Don Reisinger features a slideshow with 10 alternatives, starting (of course) with iWork.

I had *no* idea there were so many Office variants!!

I Wish I May…

As you may know, iTunes has a potentially evil feature, the Wish List. Evil, you say? Whatever do you mean? I don’t use the iTunes Wish List feature, but if you were to take a look at my wish list at amazon.com (40+ pages; I kid you not), you’d see just how evil the whole concept is!!

My books addiction notwithstanding, Kirk McElhearn provides a pretty good overview of features and pros and cons of the iTunes Wish List. PYBT: How to use the iTunes Wish List.

Who are you and what do you do?

At The Sweet Setup:

Every week we post a new interview with someone about what software they use on their Mac, iPhone, or iPad. We do these interviews because not only are they fun, but a glimpse into what tools someone uses and how they use those tools can spark our imagination and give us an idea or insight into how we can do things better.

Today’s victim, er, interviewee:

My name is Jeffrey Abbott. I’m a technical writer by trade, but work on Draft Evolution and The Sweet Setup at night. I also contribute a weekly post to The Pen Addict, which is an absolute blast.

You can catch Jeffrey’s complete story here: Jeffrey Abbott’s sweet Mac setup.

“Back issues” can be found here: Sweet Setup Interview.

From an article on Opposing Views:

…“Microsoft clearly believes that the users’ personal data belongs to Microsoft, not the users themselves,” said Ginger McCall of the Electronic Privacy Information Center.…

Sounds like Google, no?

The piece continues:

…The problem extends beyond Microsoft according to the Guardian. Apple, Google, and Yahoo all have similar policies. A recent story quoted excerpts from each company policy.…

And have a good morning!            :-\
